I may sound crazy but after the first 10 or 20 i started counting my salutes every time and i got one. I got a whole of 171 salutes for the 2nd Day alone. That’s gotta be the most respectible day in my life and honor i have ever recieved. Let me tell you this, going with Capt. Suresh into the OTA is like walking the streets of a temple with god on your side. He is the star and somehow everybody seem to respect you since you are with this man who has a place in their hearts.

Every 10 meters stood a gaurd and when i rolled down my car window every one of them saluted and said good morning. I was just blown to pieces by this honor and respect given to me, a small time geeky software engineer working for an MNC who managed to get a Canon DSLR and make friends with Capt. Suresh and lo! Everybody is saluting me and every Male and Girl Cadet i spoke to addressed me as “Sir”.

At one point of time i felt so guilty that i dont deserve all of this respect and honor for the cheap’o that i’am. I thought i was really cheating on these people and i should run away! Capt. Suresh deserve’s the “Sir”, now that makes a difference but trust me… the respect and discipline these people portrayed towards me, i will not forget till the last drop of blood runs dry off my body.

This cadet was walking into the office, as soon as he saw me and Capt. Suresh behind me he saluted me. I raised and i shot, i was not quick enough or say he was too quick for me. I know this shot is blurred in full size yet this shot is a landmark in my life. This day is a different day, this day people i never knew showered tonnes of respect and love and honor on me. I will never forget this day.

One of the things that fascinate me about photography is reflections. This picture i found on flickr is an excellent and rather unique example of how it is used on a portrait shot.
