Written by Dilip Muralidaran on February 20, 2008 – 2:27 am -Curiosity killed the cat, or did it? Well i for starters did something cool off late. I started off installing Ubuntu on my Home PC. Okay, before you scream of me talking in tongues of technical jargons Ubuntu is nothing more than a flavor of Linux. This one being particularly very easy to install and manage.
So far so good. Good thing being, im learning a new operating system. Bad thing is that the Linux environment needs you to break your head to accomplish every small thing and well, nothing is as niche and easy as windows is and you don’t get the "finished" feel to it.
One thing i will have to mention is the graphics, its far superior to what it is on Windows. Just too good. Bad is that everything is partially on the command line console and something’s are so hard to get to work.
I will try and post more on my Linux experience from time to time here. Until then, i recommend everyone get a hand at this. Its worth the time and effort.
