Hanuman

Kavya depicts Lord Hanuman in her dance. Ravana kidnaps Sita and is in Lanka and Lord Rama sends Hanuman, the monkey god as his messenger to find where abouts of sita. Its interesting to note how the dancer jumps around like a monkey/ape to depict this character. I had much fun shooting this dance. To see something in artistic expression, especially a story you know so well and taught in your childhood, its pure joy to experience it all once again. The effect story telling has on a induvidual is amazing. Of course, she was flying in the air again and i apologize i could hardly get her picture with both of her foot on the ground. I may have one or two images but that was pure luck. Kavya, the dancer was just exhorbitantly skilled and wonderful. Canon EOS 400D with the Sigma EF 24-70MM F/2.8; Manual, F/4 at 1/200th of a Second, ISO400, Tripod. All Rights Reserved.
